COA RO 6 Revisits Classic Pinoy Games through its Gender Learning Session

The Commission on Audit (COA) Regional Office No. VI hosted its first ever Gender Learning Session (GLS) at the COA Multipurpose/Covered Gym last August 12, 2022.

The competing teams were the Yellow Team, composed of the Regional Office and Corporate Government Audit Sector; the Red Team, composed of the National Government Audit Sector; and the Blue Team, represented by the Local Government Audit Sector. Each team color symbolizes the Colors of the Commission.

The employees’ wits, athleticism, and spirit of cooperation and teamwork were tested with the classic Pinoy “Laro ng Lahi”, like Kadang-kadang, Sack Race, and Tug-of-War.

Rules on Going to Market, Dodgeball and Family Feud were revamped and converted to Paninda ni Juana, Ipagtanggol ang Reyna and Tanong Ko, Sagot Mo, respectively, adding “Pinoy” flavor to them.

The GLS proved to be a multifaceted avenue for learning. It dared to challenge not only the physical and mental aspects but also appealed to the creative side of the COA employees through the ‘Cheers and Yells’ and Muse and Escort competitions.

In the evening, each team showcased their talents and creativity. The Red Team and Yellow Team introduced the festivals of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao through a cultural dance number. The Blue Team captured the essence of the “Pinoy” fiesta through a variety show.

Our salute to The Blue Team, which was declared the overall champion, and to both the Yellow and Red teams, which took second place.

GLS 2022 concluded with a night of dancing and music, good food, and great company which proves that the competition that transpired between the teams only strengthens the rapport and camaraderie for every COAn, validating once again that we are “One COA, One Family”.
