COA RO6 joins the nation in recognizing women-empowerment, promoting gender equality in the workplace, and highlighting the achievements and success of women in different fields of expertise.

With this year’s subtheme, ‘Agenda ng Kababaihan Tungo sa Kaunlaran’, the Commission on Audit Regional Office No. VI formally commenced the month-long celebration on March 1, 2022, with an opening program hosted by the COA Central Office and simultaneously broadcasted over all the regional offices in the country.

“There is nothing more fitting and timely than having a woman assume the highest position in the commission on Audit on the first day of the National Women’s Month Celebration”, the newest Commissioner, Hon. Commissioner Mario G. Lipana addressed, as he welcomed the newly appointed COA Chairperson, Hon. Rizalina N. Justol.

March 9, 2022. An early morning Zumba dance workout was held at the COA RO6 Auditorium, with Mr. Georey C. Bucana, Administrative Aide IV from the Department of Health Region 6, at the helm. The energy in the Regional Office transcended the virtual world as Provincial Satellite Offices of COA RO6 joined the exercise via live stream.

March 10, 2022. A talk on Safety on Active Transport and Violence Against Women and Children, in coordination with the Department of Health Region 6, reminded COANs to travel safely, especially those using bicycles. A very timely reminder especially when most people nowadays are more inclined to use active transport, leaning into a healthier lifestyle.

March 11, 2022. A diversion from the routinary office works, COANs indulged in another field of expertise. With the help of TESDA Region 6, a livelihood program on pastries, salads, and sandwich-making was enjoyed especially by the men in the regional office. This goes to show that there is no gender barrier, especially on activities usually associated with women.

March 15, 2022. As a temporary escape from the everyday run-of-the-mill job, a film showing activity was enjoyed by COA RO6 employees and those at the Provincial Satellite Offices via virtual streaming.

March 19, 2022. A group of COA RO6 bike enthusiasts braved the heat of the summer sun. Fourteen men and women traversed the Pavia-Sta. Barbara-Cabatuan route. The blazing summer heat only intensified their adrenaline as they pedaled towards the end route. This proves that men and women can do things hand in hand and can achieve the same goals without bias.

This year’s Women’s Month Celebration is focused on women making choices without prejudice, exercising their voices to be heard loud and clear, and taking chances as trailblazers of making changes work not only for women but for every gender in the workplace and the community.
